The MlT servers are down for some "percussive maintenance" this week, so we here at MlT "Admissions" decided to create a temporary blog in the meantime. We can maybe answer any and all questions you have about admissions to MlT. Our servers normally house all off the cold, unfeeling MlT students that we uploaded there to answer your questions, so we're stuck with this format. ReplyDeleteClass of '22, this is a sad excuse for a prank. First of all the website is horrible, nothing like the real MIT admissions site. The funny thing is, it would have actually been easier to just copy the HTML from the actual webpage and host that after modifying it than creating a blogger site. And the domain is horrid: no one is ever going to see this, anyone who does will notice immediately, and it could have been easily made with Unicode lookalike characters. The fact that you all were admitted is a travesty and I hope that in the future you can use better judgement before attempting anything like this monstrosity of a prank. At least you made sure to say that it was the class of '22 alone. I don't mean to say that the whole class is to blame, and to those of you responsible I think that I speak for the whole CalTech community when I say please. don't. do. anything. like. this. again. We've had some great pranks in the past and I'm sure that you all will realize that this was a flop after getting a max of 10 clicks and feel bad enough already without a current student berating you for wasting your time on this. I do feel a little bit bad, but this is honestly inexcusable and I hope that you can take this lesson into your college careers.
